After some underwhelming batting performance, the Carribean side was only able to score 135 runs in their 20 overs quota. They needed early wickets to get back in the game and put pressure on the Proteas.

Well, if you need a wicket, you don't need to look anywhere else if you have Andre Russell in your team. The all-rounder has a golden arm like no one else. He was once again the game-changer for the hosts as he took down both openers in his first over.

In a rare occurrence, Rovman Powell gave the second over to Andre Russell. And the all-rounder did not disappoint as he took down both Reeza Hendricks and Quinton De Kock in his only over.

Rain Spoiling SA Vs WI T20 World Cup 2024?

But the luck turned for the West Indies as the rain started pouring down from the sky. The way Group 2 of Super 8 has moved, West Indies needs to win to proceed to the Semi-Finals.

If rain plays spoilsport, South Africa will qualify for the next round without giving West Indies the complete chance to compete. If the game resumes, the Carribean side would like to complete 5 overs at least, so that the DLS method can be applied.
